Curling Rock Handle Fundraiser

If you have ever curled in another club, you may have seen names engraved on their curling stone handles. We would like to do this for our club as a fundraiser. We are proposing this idea:-
  1. Have your name or family's name engraved on the curling handles for a cost of $235 for up to two lines.  This will go on a new handle and stay for the life of the handle.
  2. This is a fundraiser for our club as well as a legacy for your family. This will be done annually until all the handles are engraved.
If you are interested in this, let me know and we will get started. lenoretaylor2@gmail.com

Club History

The Oakwood Curling Club was first started on December 5, 1940 in the Old Skating Arena. In the fall of 1945, a movement was made to build our own rink, and the present building opened in the fall of 1946, with 3 sheets of ice.

75 years later the club is still going strong, with over 120 members. The clubhouse was given a facelift in 2011; come and see the new look!

The Oakwood Curling Club offers something for everyone, whether you're a senior, a junior, a competitive curler or just want to have fun and make new friends.

There are leagues for ladies, men, mixed, and seniors. Bonspiels are held throughout the season.

Two other curling clubs, Ops and Little Britain, use the ice in Oakwood. Local schools use the club to introduce elementary students to the game of curling.
